Conventional hiring platforms have done the classic privileged mistake of assuming they’d go through ten pages of authentications, sign-ups and searching in the English Language for someone who’s barely studied till 5th Grade; essentially rendering them out of the digitization cycle. Not due to the lack of options, but simple inaccessibility.

For us, we couldn’t resist solving the mess: from visiting villages on foot, speaking to enough workers to understand how no Naukri, Monster, Internshala and LinkedIns of the world hold any relevance in communities ruled by “Thekedaars” and word of mouth since the dawn of time. Better not talk about the exploitation one has to face on either sides.
